The impact IT has had on society is that people these days aren’t going out shopping everyone is doing their shopping online, doing the shopping online makes it easier and you don’t have to go out of your own comfort to do shopping they can just do it online. A lot of people are staying indoors and just using the internet to socialise and shop which is making people stay indoors and not getting out getting the fresh air and exercise they need, so a lot of people are starting to gain weight whilst there sitting on their computer chairs surfing the web.

Online shopping

Online shopping has taken over a lot of stores as it is cheaper and easier to shop online and everyone don’t want to go out in the traffic and walk about shopping when they can do it online and there are a lot more offers online than there are in the stores, this has affected our society because everyone is staying indoors instead of going out and also a lot of stores are going out of business because no one is going out to buy from the stores so there not earning any money so they are having to close their stores and sack there staff so a lot of people are being made redundant and it is also stopping the future generations getting part time and full time jobs in stores, also people are not getting to meet their local community whilst out shopping so a lot of people are staying indoors not going out and socialising with their local community.

Online shopping is also good as it can help people who are always working late and haven’t got the time to be going out and shopping; most shopping online sites have an online security that make sure all your details are kept safe.

Online socialising

Online socialising has taken over, people these days are staying indoors a lot more as they are sitting on their computers online going on Facebook, MySpace, twitter etc. the affect this has on our society is that people are getting out and socialising face to face, online socialising is causing a lot of problems as there are a lot of people that do online hacking which means they can hack your accounts and clone, also with socialising online there are people that disguise them self’s as someone else so they can talk to young people and try to meet the person.

Online socialising is also good as people can keep in touch with old friends that they haven’t seen in years and they can also show each other pictures of each other so they can always keep up to date with each other you can also meet new friends and it online socialising is also cheaper than phone calls or texting as you can write to them and tell them when you will be seeing them.
